Mountain View Diner was established in Frederick, Maryland in year 2000. Later, a second location was opened in Charles Town, West Virginia. There are plans for
opening a third location in the future.
The restaurant is owned by two partners: Mr. Petropouleas and Mr.Macheras.
Mr. Petropouleas has been working in the restaurant industry since he was 15 years old. In the 70’s and 80’s he owned restaurants and nightclubs in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York.
Mr. Macheras’ family owned restaurants; however, he had pursued a different career by spending several years working for a large computer corporation.
Then two of them came to one decision - to open a restaurant and run that business together. That decision resulted in establishing the Mountain View Diner in Frederick.
Owning a restaurant in the Frederick area has been a pleasure, according to Mr. Petropouleas’s words. "There are several reasons," he continues. "We believe we have the best customers and the best employees. Our customers have displayed an incredible loyalty. 80 to 90% of our business comes from repeat customers. Our employees are truly the best of anyone around. They are very friendly and very fast, even under extreme conditions – like when a lot of people are waiting at the door – they do their best. Most of them have been with us since we opened.”
So, that’s our recipe for success: mix good and affordable food with loyal customers and excellent employees, and then top everything with hard work and dedication to service. Enjoy!
